Project Name

Trader Joe's
Package Labels

Trader Joe's is an American food chain known for its unique food items and quirky culture. The prompt of this project was to design two food package labels one targeting a younger audience and the other, an older audience.

Younger Generation Ideation

Trader Joe's current label for milk chocolate peanut butter cups inspired me to reimage the container's aesthetics and what captures the eye of the younger generations. Immediately I knew I wanted to incorporate bright colors and bold graphics.

Younger Generation label

I used bright neon yellow and layered texts to create an exciting viewing experience. Front and center is a peanut butter cup graphic, while the stripes at the bottom reflect the familiar ridges of a wrapper.

 older Generation Ideation

For the older generation design, I was inspired by the boldness and simplicity of Trader Joe's current label. I wanted this dark chocolate peanut butter cup label to be classy and refined.

Using contrasting colors helped make the label legible and eye-catching. I chose an elegant shape as the title background to communicate respectability and reliability.  Also added a fun twist with a mini peanut butter cup pattern around the container.
